Project H.O.P.E. – humans on planet earth originated from love for our planet coupled with the awareness of the state which we brought our world in. The impending climate catastrophe led to a moment of desperation and the question of what we can do to be part of the solution. The answer was: a lot, actually! This project is the result.

The H.O.P.E. App informs you about which and how climate-friendly certain things are. A small example: Almost everybody knows that it’s more friendly to the climate if you use oat milk in your cereal instead of cow milk. A kiwi is more climate-friendly when it is flown in from Italy instead of New Zealand. The app will tell you how much MORE climate-friendly the heroic climate deeds of using oat milk or eating more local products actually are.
inspiration
The H.O.P.E. App is much more than merely an informative work of references. It inspires you to try out new things you might haven’t thought of before. Now that you know how climate-friendly oat milk is, Jimmy would like to invite you to make your own oat milk once in a while. Or to make a detour to the oat fields while you’re on the way to school or work. At no point in time will Jimmy raise a warning finger or “punish” you for behaviour that is damaging to the climate. He simply invites you to rediscover climate friendliness.

To ensure that you’re having fun during your climate protection expedition, Jimmy motivates you at various stages inside the app. Every new month brings new challenges. For every aspect of life. Every time you’re acting in a climate-friendly way, you’re rewarded with points. Are you walking on foot instead of taking the car? Points. Jolly bike ride? Points. The same goes for rides with public transport. You can set your own goals and earn rewards. The H.O.P.E. App will motivate you daily to keep on rolling.

No, no, don’t worry! We’re not talking about complicated math problems. There might be some math games in the app but more of that later. What is multiplied is the impact of your climate friendliness. If you have activated the “Friends” module, every little climate-friendly deed will inspire your surroundings. At the same time, you are getting inspiration through the deeds of your friends. All-important: At nearly any point in the app, you can send us your ideas and inspire all other app users. Protecting the climate can and has to be fun!
