the Sustainable Development Goals

The UN has defined global sustainable development goals. H.O.P.E. regards those agreed goals as one of the most significant accomplishments of humanity. They document humanity’s revaluation of the way so far and the realization that something has to change. Project H.O.P.E. – humans on planet earth commits to all 17 SDGs out of a deeply rooted belief. Those are the goals:

1. No poverty
2. Zero hunger
3. Good health and well-being
4. Quality education
5. Gender equality
6. Clean water and sanitation
7. Affordable and clean energy
8. Decent work and economic growth
9. Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
10. Reducing inequalities
11. Sustainable cities and communities
12. Responsible consumption and production
13. Climate action
14. Life below water
15. Life on land

16. Peace, justice and strong institutions

17. Partnership for the goals

goal 1: No poverty

End poverty in all its forms everywhere

HOPE4EARTH is collecting donations and distributes them to climate protection projects which, among other goals, aim to fight poverty. This way, the project supports the development of small businesses in some of the world’s poorest regions. Climate change is already responsible for unequal distribution today: Countries in the south experience the consequences of climate change in an over proportional fashion. For this reason, climate protection is also always protection for growing poverty.

goal 2: Zero hunger

End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture

With the “Diet” module, the H.O.P.E. App will provide a new stage for sustainable groceries and inspire a diet based on seasonal and regional food products. This way, climate-friendly cultivation is supposed to be encouraged.

The goal of Project H.O.P.E. is to preserve the living space planet earth. The approaching climate catastrophe will shape our living space to be life-hostile. Large parts of Africa will become uninhabitable, which will lead to global famine. Effective measures for climate protection are therefore always measures to fight world hunger at the same time.

goal 3: Good health and well-being

Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

The H.O.P.E. App is promoting climate-friendly behaviour in everyday life of its app users. Being climate-friendly is often also health-enhancing. Let’s take a simple example: In the „Mobility“ module, Jimmy is regularly advocating and motivating for a bike ride or a walk as means of transportation. In the „Diet“ module, Jimmy encourages a diet of unprocessed food items that benefit the body. With the help of the „Body & Soul“ module, the app will move the health aspect into the spotlight. Here, users will find inspiration to be mindful of the planet and inspiration to be aware of their bodies.

goal 4: Quality education

Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all

The H.O.P.E. App is a climate protection-learning-app. It teaches people how easy it is to be more climate-friendly, no matter their age or background. The app takes scientific findings and breaks them down into actions that are easy to understand and easy to learn. Within our school system, sustainability and climate change topics are far from getting the attention they should be receiving. H.O.P.E. reshapes learning for every generation and enables access to true-to-life education in an intuitive and playful manner.

goal 5: Gender equality

Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

Inside the H.O.P.E. App, Jimmy is the digital mirror for the climate friendliness of its users. He inspires more climate friendliness in everyday life as well as during cooking and shopping. The company – humans on planet earth UG (limited liability) aims to shape people’s daily lives to be more climate-friendly.

Climate ambassador Hope manages the nonprofit organization HOPE4EARTH gUG (limited liability). Her mission is to collect donations to pass them on to the most effective climate protection projects. Users of the H.O.P.E. App can use their earned points to influence the amount of assistance a specific project receives from the total donation pot. The project isn’t concerned with traditional gender roles; while the male character is responsible for house and farm, the female character handles finances and global concerns.

Furthermore, the project will ensure that climate protection projects that receive support are also promoting gender equality on-site.

goal 6:  Clean water and sanitation

Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all

Users of the H.O.P.E. App will be inspired to water-saving actions so that the resource water can be used sustainably and to support the global supply of water. The initiatives include but are not limited to:

  • Motivating water-saving measures during cooking via tips and challenges in the “Diet” module
  • Inspiration for water-saving behaviour in the “Living” module
  • Sensibilization for the importance of water for life in the design and storytelling of the climate-protection-adventure app

For water-saving behaviour, Users will earn rewards, especially in the “Living” module. HOPE4EARTH supports projects for climate protection that are dedicated to protecting the biotope water.

goal 7: Affordable and clean energy

Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all

The H.O.P.E. App aims to inspire climate friendly behaviour in its entirety, among other things via reward points. Small deeds for the climate will be rewarded with a handful of points. Heroic climate deeds however, will be rewarded with a lot of points. No deed receives as much honoring and rewards as does the use of sustainable energy. Switching to clean power will be rewarded most of all.

HOPE4EARTH supports the most effective projects for climate protection. First and foremost this means: Encouraging the usage of sustainable energy sources across the globe. Sustainable energy sources are for example: Biogas plants or solar cookers. Using sustainable energy sources is climate protection.

goal 8: Decent work and economic growth

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

The H.O.P.E. App is a stage for sustainable companies. In the “Shopping” module, Jimmy informs Users about climate-friendly products and climate-friendly economics. The app is an interface between people who want to live sustainable and economic forces that act environmentally friendly. H.O.P.E. aims to align the global economy to more sustainability and the protection of living space. The app does this by giving inspiration and challenges to reduce consumption and long-term usage…

goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation

Project H.O.P.E. is creating connecting elements between people from all strata of society and the human population worldwide by tuning society as a whole to climate protection.

By being a bridge between daily climate friendliness and global projects for climate protection, the H.O.P.E. App relates and connects to people’s lives across continents. The construction of sustainable structures in the geographical south will support a resilient infrastructure directly.

goal 10: Reducing inequalities

Reduce income inequality within and among countries

The consequences of climate change affects various regions differently. While the industrialized world is disproportionately to blame for climate change, the african continent or the asian insular states have to face much harsher consequences of climate change. HOPE4EARTH aims to support sustainability in those regions to weaken the global injustice.

goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable

The H.O.P.E. App is supporting the orientation towards sustainability from cities and communities at the following levels:

  • Advocating climate-friendly means of transportation
  • Motivating to pass up on individual transport
  • Support for cities that create and communicate sustainable city planning
  • Informing the users of innovations and offers of their city
  • Creating an interactive dialogue between politics and population

HOPE4EARTH supports projects for climate protection that shape humans‘ living space to be more sustainable and those that help residents of cities and communities achieve higher sustainability.

goal 12: Responsible consumption and production

Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

The idea to support sustainable consumption can be seen throughout the entirety of the H.O.P.E. App. Here are some chosen examples, how resource-sparing consumption is promoted:

  • Tips in the “Diet” module: How can you save water?
  • Tips in the “Shopping” module: How can I use products for them to be long-lived?
  • Challenges in the “Living” module: How can I reduce trash?
  • Event in the “Diet” module: Groceries rescue party with friends

With users sharing their individual sustainable consumption behaviour to their friends, every app user will become an ambassador for sustainable consumer behaviour.

goal 13: Climate action

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts by regulating emissions and promoting developments in renewable energy

H.O.P.E. is all about climate protection. In every area of the company. Each module, every challenge, and every single achievement aims to inspire users of the H.O.P.E. App to more climate friendliness. The nonprofit organization HOPE4EARTH collects donations for climate protection projects and offers them a stage where they can offer app users an understanding of their activities. With their accumulated H.O.P.E. Points, app users support a climate protection project of their choice. The endeavour to spread climate protection across the globe is not only one of H.O.P.E.’s goals; it’s the goal that defines H.O.P.E.

goal 14: Life below water

Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development

With playful elements and design, the H.O.P.E. App conveys the beauty of the underwater world. The “Games” module will host games where players have to solve tricky tasks to free the oceans of plastic. In each module, the app motivates users to waste disposal and avoid waste altogether when possible. With the “Mobility” module, Jimmy encourages app users to pick up and dispose of the trash of others to prevent it from ending up in the sea. The “Living” module is not only about conserving resources but also strongly emphasises the general avoidance of waste in every sphere of life. Project H.O.P.E. campaigns against the pollution of our oceans.

goal 15: Life on land

Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

Project H.O.P.E. originated from the consciousness of the mass species extinction. Climate protection is species protection. Climate protection is really not about climate but ultimately about living beings and the conservation of their living space. The purpose of this company is to protect all terrestrial ecosystems permanently to preserve them for coming generations.

goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions

Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels

The advancement of climate change will trigger social disruption, resulting in a rise in popularity for political fringe groups. This ongoing process has already become a daily routine in politics. H.O.P.E. adamantly opposes the attempt to meet the impending global crisis with national isolation, racism, and violence. H.O.P.E. aims to sensibilise all forces to confront the global threat that is climate change together, not separated. H.O.P.E. will offer every person the opportunity to be part of the solution. Through inclusion and being part of the adventure “rescuing the world,” calls for ostracism are set to lose their appeal.

When climate change effects lead to an increase in stress levels through society, H.O.P.E. will offer a peaceful, future-orientated solution – based on science and experience. H.O.P.E. is a feel-good cosmos and mirrors this fundamental peaceful attitude to its users. This happens both on a large and small scale: Through the connection between friends who experience the adventure climate protection together, through positive incentives, the groundwork for social sustainability will be laid. H.O.P.E. offers a new kind of tool through cross-linking all layers of society (economy, education, sport, art, politics).

goal 17: Partnership for the goals

Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development

H.O.P.E. is short for “humans on planet earth” and aims to unite humankind in the face of the human-made threat. H.O.P.E. will address all structures in society. Because H.O.P.E. wasn’t imagined to be strictly limited to the European market, H.O.P.E. aims to involve the whole globe in its goal. H.O.P.E. is designed to host challenges from all over the world. It starts with friends, goes to the major of a small community, up to the interconnection of whole nations.

H.O.P.E. aims to create a global climate network that builds connections across national borders and reflects the powers and ideas that fight against the modern world threat, especially regarding the main goal H.O.P.E. is dedicated to: Protecting the climate. H.O.P.E. wants to create an understanding on every level that climate protection shouldn’t be done for the sake of it, but that climate protection always means protecting our living space and ultimately the preservation of our and countless other species. A goal as colossal as this can’t be accomplished by one project or country alone. For this reason, H.O.P.E. campaigns to bring the achievements of the 17 formulated goals closer to humans worldwide.
